FEENIX ASHES - Naming my baby

The mythical bird 'Phoenix rising from the ashes'
The legend is that when the bird dies it would burst into flames

and another phoenix would rise from its ashes.

I believe fashion is eternal, and an idea never dies, it simply evolves.
I wanted my concept 'Old vs New' to play part in my labels name.

FEENIX - being the new future
ASHES- being the old
The mythical bird also plays part of the fantasy and magic theme of my designs.

Lets make Love & Fashion

Creating my own style and collection seemed easy, but creating good quality products and for a consumers market is a trained skill and I would need expert advice for my venture.

It seemed only natural to attend Central St Martins College of Fashion - London.
Here I would learn vital elements to turn my ideas into good products and reality.

My main concerns were professional garment construction, creating a collection, designing and working with swimwear and producing and adapting patterns.

I have really enjoyed every moment of learning my new skills and using them to create my visions into a reality so that I can share them with others around the
world.

My magical Fantasy Island - Ibiza

There is a place that kick starts my creativity like nowhere else in the world, the magical island 'Ibiza'.
People from all over the globe come together and remember each other like yesterday.

Peace and love and all that is Hippy-bohemian, mixed with an electric energy - I find it difficult
explaining what Ibiza is to me, so I try my best to interpret the energy, beauty and happiness in my designs.

This is my fantasy world, its an incredible melting pot where music, art and fashion is experimented. Its also a place of bohemian vintage and the latest modern dance fashions.

To combine the two gives an amazing effect. Old cottons with flashes of neon yellow and metals.

My dresses began here. I created a whole wardrobe in 2006 just for myself, I received wonderful comments and a fashion house copied one of my designs a year after photographing me, to which my mother was angry as I didn't gain any credit but I thought it was amazing and a good reason to carry on and believe in myself and my ideas.
In 2007 I repeated the same idea, flying to Tokyo and New York I gained more inspiration,
I packed everything I had been working on for 6 months into one suitcase...sadly.... the suitcase went missing at the airport... BUT THAT DID NOT STOP ME!

For the last year I have been working at Central Saint Martins School of Fashion to bring back a bigger badder Collection for 2009...

In the beginning god made Eve.. and she needed some serious fashion

Everyone needs someone to look up to or have as a muse for inspiration.
For me its Bridgette Bardot, she radiates 'sex bomb' and at the same time her style is effortlessly classic, feminine and elegant, of course my only inspiration doesn't come from Bardot, but it helps me when creating clothes to think who I'm dressing.

I think our modern day Bardot is Kate Moss.

I love vintage clothes, but I love Modern fashion also, a way to combime the two only made sense: Old vs New.

My visions spice up those old withered worn pastel fabrics with metallics, bold striking colours, peruvian patterns...the result is like some space aged electricity has gone through the fabric.
